Stephen Curry Signs 5 Year Extension for $201 Million

You read that right, two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry has inked an 5 year extension with the Golden State Warriors for a record-breaking $201 Million – the richest contract in NBA history. Curry has led the team with 207 regular season game wins, 3 NBA final appearances, and two NBA titles in the last 3 years. He was also named the leagues Most Valuable Player twice in the three year span, which in 2016 he became the first ever unanimous winner of the award. Golden State general manager Bob Myers stated Friday that the Warriors will finalize the contract Thursday when the free-agency fiasco ends.

Curry was signed under a contract that was worth a measly $44 Million compared to what he's scheduled to earn now.

Even though he was definitely one of the top free agents of the off-season, there really was never a doubt that he would resign with Golden State. The owner of the Warriors made that very clear during an interview after the team won their NBA title last month.

"We're going to do whatever it takes to keep Steph here and happy," Lacob told the Bay Area News Group. "And I know he wants to be here and we want him here. So I do not anticipate any issues with him staying."

Even Curry's league "rival" Lebron congratulated him after hearing about the monstrous deal.

Even though it was never really a doubt if Stephen would stay with Golden State, He now has 201 million reasons to.
